OCC - Merry Making Day 5

Day 5 was watercolor.  I really enjoy watercoloring but am not very good at it.

I used the Zig Clear Color markers for the flowers.  I think they came out good, especially for me.

Thanks for stopping by.

OCC - Merry Making Day 4

Die cutting was the topic today.  I have lots of dies so this was easy for me.

I die cut the bak ornament from glitter paper and the front was foiled in gold.  It's really pretty in person.

Thanks for stopping by.

OCC - Merry Making Day 3

We were to use non-Christmas stamps for this day.

I did use snowflake stamps to make my card look more wintery.

Thanks for stopping by.

OCC - Merry Making Day 2

Today was about stamping techniques.  I have lots of Christmas stamps but I wanted to use a layering stamp.  I don't have any that are Christmas so I used an Altenew stamp and made a thank you card.

I first scored my card then stamped the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by.

OCC - Merry Making Day 1

I've been taking another Online Card Class.  This one was making Christmas cards.  I already have mine made but thought I'd learn some new techniques.

Day 1 was backgrounds.  I uses Distress Oxides to make several backgrounds before I got one I really liked. I used one I had put  aside for the die cut leaves.

I will be making for backgrounds using distress oxides.  They really blend easily.

PAPERTREY INK STAMP-A-FAIRE 2017 - Iron

I had to really think about iron.  I finally came up with the idea to use Ten Second Studio VerDay paint.

I die cut an opening in the iron paper and put a background i made a while ago behind it.  I die cut a leaf stem and attached a hello that I used some gilding flakes on.

Thanks for stopping by.

PAPERTREY INK STAMP-A-FAIRE 2017 - Tin & Aluminum

I really had a hard time with this one.  I had so many ideas, which one to do.

I found the silver tape in my stash.  I have it in 3 different sizes but only used the 2 smallest.  I used silver Nuvo gilding flakes on the thanks and the center of the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by.

PAPERTREY INK STAMP-A-FAIRE 2017 - Bronze

This was fun.  I used embossing powder for the bronze.

After I colored the flowers and attached the thanks the card still needed something.  I rubbed a VersaMark ink pad on the edges of my card and used the same embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by.

PAPERTREY INK STAMP-A-FAIRE 2017 - Leather

This class was about faux leather.  I did this technique years ago but had forgotten about it.

As you can see I made a birthday card.  I think it would be a good one for a man.

Thanks for looking.

PAPERTREY INK STAMP-A-FAIRE 2017 - Wood

This class was to make a card with wood.  The teacher used an embossing folder for the wood element.  So I did also.

I really had fun with this card.  I know I covered up a lot of the wood but it's still there.

Thanks for looking.

PAPERTREY INK STAMP-A-FAIRE 2017 - Paper

I really like Papertrey Ink's stamps and dies so I thought I'd follow along with their Stamp-A-Faire.  They are doing 10 mini classes because it's their 10 anniversary.

The first class was about paper.  We were to use scraps to make a card.

As you can see I die cut stars from a Papertrey Ink die and glues them to a navy card.  I then added the sentiment toward the bottom right.  This was an easy card to make.

Thanks for looking.

OCC Rainbow Maker - Day 6

The last day of class was using additional ideas to make cards using rainbow colors.  I made 2 cards for this homework.  The first one is using Nuvo crystal Drops.  I only have a few so I colored the white with distress inks.

For my second card I used washi tape.  I really like this card.

This was a great  class.

OCC Rainbow Maker - Day 5

Day 5 was about using stenciling mediums.  I really liked this one!  To start I used Distress Inks to create the rainbow.  I then used a stencil and pearlescent mousse.

It's really shinny in person.  I will be making more cards using this technique.

Thanks for stopping by.

OCC Rainbow Maker - Day 4

Today was about using watercolor to make a rainbow card.  I was really stressed out making this one.  I don't do very well with watercolors.  For this one I did the smooshing technique.

This is a 4 bar card.  It's smaller that an A2.

Thanks for stopping by.

OCC Rainbow Maker - Day 3

Today we were to use paper to create our rainbow card.  I die cut circles from paper.  They needed something so I stamped three of the animal from Jane's Doodles Smile stamp set.  I also used the saying from this set.  I die cut the word smile 4 times and stacked them together.

I think this turned out fun.

Thanks for stopping by.

OCC Rainbow Maker - Day 2

For day 2 we were to use stamps to create a rainbow card.  I made a striped background.  I used a set of stamps from Simon Says Stamp and Distress Inks.   Here's my card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Create 2017 - Bonus

Thursday evening a bonus project was posted I didn't get to make my card until the weekend as I went to the Great American Scrapbook show in Arlington on Friday.

The project was to use dry embossing.  I have a ton of embossing folders but wanted to try using a background die to emboss my card.  It was really easy to do.  Here is the card I made:

I'm not sure of the card base color but couldn't find anything I liked better.

Create 2017 - Glitzy Glitter

The last day has us using glitter.  I die cut a flower on some cardstock I covered with double sided tape.  I added the glitter.  For the background I used a stencil and distress ink.

The Create team has added a bonus technique.  I will have my card tomorrow.
Thanks for coming by.

Create 2017 - Sensational Sliders

Day 4 was all about slider cards.  For this card I made a slider.  I cut 3 sides from the middle of a panel.  I added a pull card and attached it to the bottom of the panel.  I used an MFT stamp for my image.  When I had finished my card it still needed something so I added the butterflies.  I have 2 pictures, one closed and the other opened.

Thanks for looking.

Create 2017 - Spectacular Shaker

Day 3 has us making shaker cards.  I really wanted to do something for the Fourth of July so I did a star shaker.  Of course I couldn't find any stars for the shakers so I die cut them.  This is really an easy card.

Thanks for coming by.

Camp Create 2017 - Remarkable Resist

For day 2 the assignment was to make a card with resist.  I clear embossed a stamp for the background.  I then watercolored over the entire card.  I die cut the flowers and added a sentiment.

Camp Create 2017 - Wonderful Watercolor

If you follow mftstamps.com you know about their Camp Create.  Their camp counselors will share five crafts this week.  Today was day 1 and we were to use watercolors.

I wet the watercolor paper, then dropped 2 different colors of blue on to the wet paper.  While it was still wet I scrunched up some plastic food wrap and placed it over the paper.  When it dried I removed the plastic wrap and used this as my background.  I stamped and die cut some flowers and leaves from MFT.  Then added the thanks.  Here is the card I made.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sparkle &n Shine - Day 4

Day 4 was about shimmer, pearl and flakes.

For my card I chose to use flakes.  I have been hoarding these flakes for some time.  There are several colors in the package.  I used a die to cut a background, then added the flakes.

Again, the picture doesn't capture the shine.
I had forgotten how fun these flakes are.  I'll be using them again really soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sparkle & Shine - Day 3

Day 3 was all about liquid applications.

For my card I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.  I also covered the hugs with Glossy Accents.

I know the picture does not do this card justice.  There is so much sparkle from the pens.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sparkle & Shine - Day 2

Day 2 was all about foil.

Here is my card.

I stamped then flowers and saying and embossed with sticky powder.  Then ran my card thru the laminator with foil on top.  I watercolored the images.

Sparkle & Shine - Day One

I'm taking another Online Card Class. This one is Sparkle & Shine.
Day one was about glitter.

I made a card for my sister's granddaughter's birthday.
Here is the card.

You can't really tell but I had circles on my sticky paper when I put the green glitter on the card. I then pulled off the circles and applied the blue glitter.  I used glitter paper for the happy birthday.
